| Based at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail , its vines rising up the south west facing slopes, the Domaine des Bosquets encompasses 26 hectares at the heart of the appellation of Gigondas.
With 3 distinct soil types, including marl, sandy clay and blue clay, various altitudes across the property and parts of the vineyard surface covered by a substantial rocky layer, the Domaine des Bosquets manages a very complex terroir.

We use the 4 classic varieties of the southern Rhone Valley - Grenache Noir, Syrah, Cinsault and Mourvedre (Mataro) - all cordon trained to favour the best exposition and ventilation of the grapes.
|
The vines are spur pruned, debudded in the spring and the canopy is trained back in early summer to prevent any overproduction of either foliage or grapes.
This practice ensures we reach optimum maturity at the elevated altitude of our property.
Complete respect for the vineyard is our guiding priniciple and a rational, control and prevention management of our vines and their environment is our overiding concern.

Protection against the natural erosion of the slopes, aerating the soils and stimulating microbiological activity provides for an optimum absorption of the mineral elements and resistance against pests and diseases.
Encouraging the natural resistance of our vines helps to limit any phytosanitary spraying necessary to a sensible minimum.
For many years we have concentrated at the Domaine des Bosquets on the production of red wines only.
As of Spring 2003, however, a small plot has been planted with Grenache blanc and Roussanne to produce a limited quantity of white wine. |
